A recent study shows that low-dose lithium may act as a senolytic.[ref] This has important implications in healthy aging – including preventing mortality from respiratory diseases, such as COVID, and neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s.
I've been taking 5 mg of lithium once or twice a week for years now, so this seems like good new to me! I hope that at some point we could get better guidance on ideal dosage and frequency for reducing Alzheimer's risk and minimizing cytokines. Care to make any educated guesses? :)
